Wedding Date: May 5, 2012
Tell us a little about you and your beloved: We met at a dingy karaoke bar in the Mojave Desert. Greg approached me and sang Cheap Trick’s song, “I Want You to Want Me.” Hard to believe our story really started in a bar. We lived in So Cal for six months and then moved to the Yuba City area. We have been here 5 years. Greg proposed on December 27th at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. Even though we have been together for 6 years, we are still excited to see what come next and where life will lead us!
Think about weddings you have attended and what stood out in your mind about each one (positive and negative). Use those experiences to help guide your vision for your wedding. Ask the professionals for help. Our wedding coordinator helped us think outside of the box for locations we thought we wanted and she helped us find our location, smores bar and florist. Through all of this she saved us time and money and helped us to enjoy the process rather than stress over details. Get a videographer… The way they brought our wedding to life was incredible. The video in is wonderful addition to the great photographs we have. Between the two we have so many memoires for a lifetime. Follow this link to our video- http://vimeo.com/44638128
It was incredible seeing the relationship between Greg and I grow even closer during the planning process. I really expected to take the reins for all the planning but he had incredible opinions and input. He really helped me stay focused on our goal for the day and our desires for friends and family involvement. This was definitely our wedding and not just mine.
The day of our wedding there was a lot of wind. When we were taking care of pre-wedding bridal party pictures the wind was insane. We focused on getting all the formal shots with the bride and bridesmaids but we didn’t really have a chance to do many silly, relaxed shots. I would have liked a few goofy shots with my girls. Same for pictures will the whole wedding party after the ceremony. We wanted to respect all the guests and the time we had with them so we didn’t spend as much time doing group shots.
All in all the day was wonderful and we were surrounded by so many incredible people. A completely overwhelming feeling for sure!
