Our love story…

Colin and I met in high school. We are both from Chico, and he was friends with my older sister’s boyfriend. We always had an eye for each other but our lives went different directions. Colin went into the Marine Corps after high school and was stationed in 29 Palms. Colin was on his last leave home in 2013 when we ran into each other at the gym. He asked me on a date, and we ended up spending the next few days together, having a great time!

A month later, Colin flew me to Las Vegas for his last Marine Corps ball. We had the time of our lives. Then, another few months later, Colin moved back home. We both were in college and working towards our goals together. Now, we own a home in Chico with our dog Porter and are working on building a life we love!

Always Elegant Bridal made finding my dress a breeze! The stylists made me feel beautiful, as if I were with friends helping me find my perfect dress! They listened to my ideas and found exactly what I needed. I have recommended them to many other future brides to be.

Something that made my venue and celebration special is that we were married in my dad’s backyard here in Chico, which made everything feel very intimate and comfortable.

I think having it there also made all of our guests feel right at home.

The memory I will cherish most is probably the couple of times that Colin and I went out of our way to stop and slow down, look around, and truly appreciate how fortunate we are to be surrounded by everyone that we have grown with and love from the bottom of our hearts. It was such a special and humbling experience being celebrated and surrounded by all of your closest family and friends and appreciating this once in a lifetime moment.

I also really loved dancing with my Dad. He is not a very emotional guy and he broke down on my shoulder and cried and it was a very special moment for the two of us.

My advice for brides to be would be to slow down (as hard as that may be) and embrace the hustle and bustle of wedding planning and remember how sacred and special of a time this is in your life!

Don’t sweat the small stuff. Your guests aren’t going to remember what the place settings looked like, what is on every sign, the placement of everything, or the table decor; they’re going to remember the look on you and your honey’s faces and the great memories they get to forever cherish with you! And that is priceless and irreplaceable.

Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for everything you guys did for me for my special day! I am forever thankful.
