Our love story…

Kolten and I met in the 8th grade. Apparently he had a major crush on me since then but I didn’t reciprocate those feelings until mid-high school and we started dating our sophomore year of high school. We ended up going to the same college together, APU, and studying the same major (we swear we didn’t plan that or do it on purpose, hahah, God works in awesome mysterious ways). We graduated in May of 2018 and 3 months later Kolten popped the question on my birthday, August 23, in a field behind my family’s river house in Arizona where I spent my summers growing up. 15 months later we were married on November 23, 2019 – 8 years after we started dating!

The most important thing for me about finding the perfect dress was making sure I felt fully confident and beautiful in it. It’s sounds so cliché but I wanted to feel like a princess when I put THE dress on – and I did 🙂
The best personal moments of my wedding day were the morning of the wedding, waking up with all of my bridesmaids and my parents and knowing the day was FINALLY here. I also loved the moment just before my dad and I walked down the aisle. I was so ready to finally get married but my dad needed a few extra moments to collect himself and I thought that was so sweet. Also the moments just after the ceremony when me and my husband were in the bridal suite with our bridal party having drinks and bustling my dress and just celebrating how beautiful and incredible the ceremony was – and getting hyped for the reception!
Something that stood out on my wedding day was how everything fell into place so perfectly. And at the end of the day, if something did go wrong, I didn’t even care because I was just so happy to finally be married to the love of my life and surrounded by all my favorite people.
When I started thinking of what I wanted for my dress, I wanted to keep it classy but still show off my curves. I also wanted to feel like a princess so there had to be some tulle involved – the mermaid style was perfect for me. I used to always avoid the mermaid style gowns but once I tried one on, and saw how good my butt looked in it, haha, I was in love!!
My advice for future brides is enjoy every single moment. Soak it all in – even all the planning! When you are at your reception, stop, scan the room and take mental photos. Enjoy all your hard work and make sure you dance your booty off!!
