Their Love Story…

We both grew up in Chico, CA. We had known of each other since middle school. It wasn’t until 2010, while I was in college in San Francisco, that he contacted me through Facebook. He commented on a song I had posted (that song was our wedding entrance song!) We began texting, then talking on the phone. Never did we imagine we would connect so fast! That summer, while I was back home for summer break is when we fell in love. I actually made the first move and kissed him first! We spent everyday that summer together, mostly eating out and doing outdoor activities! He asked me to be his girlfriend three weeks into dating and of course I said yes. It was a special summer that I will never forget.

The proposal…

It was a Friday night. January 6th 2017 to be exact. I had been gone for a whole week for a business trip. It was one of the worst work days, so when I got home, I just wanted to go straight to bed. He wasn’t home from work yet, so I waited for him. When he came home, I was telling him about my bad day and how I just wanted to go to bed. I went to the restroom to remove my makeup and get ready for bed. As I was walking out of the restroom into the hallway, I saw him straight ahead in the living room down on one knee, holding a box that read “marry me” with the biggest smile!!!! I immediately began to cry like a baby and said yes!!! It was perfect.

What was the most important thing for you about finding the perfect dress?

I think you know you’re in your dream dress when you feel the most yourself. When you feel like your personality is shown in your dress, that is it. I chose a dress that was not even part of dream dress style! Thanks to Bree at AE Bridal, I found my dream dress that I never knew existed! I was super happy with my choice! I felt beautiful in it!

What was the best personal moments of your wedding day?

Having our closest friends and family witnessing our marriage was really special. We made sure to have little moments in the wedding that were going to make great memories. My husband walked down the aisle with his 98 years old grandmother. That was very special. I did a first look with my Dad and it was a moment I will never forget. I had a photo charm of my Grandpa in my bouquet who passed away the year prior. It’s those moments and little details that made our wedding day the most memorable.

Please share something that stood out on your wedding day?

Us. I think people really got to see who we truly are and how our love has grown in the last eight years. Laughing, crying, smiling all throughout the day really showed off our true personalities and our love for each other. We showed true happiness and everyone around us was happy as well. I think we did a great job in making sure everyone was enjoying themselves!

What was your inspiration for your wedding day and dress?

Vintage romantic was the theme I was going for. We decided on blush pinks, whites, and golds to be our colors and went from there. It was just what I imagined for our outdoor wedding to be like. My wedding dress tied it all in with the beautiful lace and tulle by designer Sophia Tolli

Any advice to future brides?

When you feel like yourself in your wedding dress, or you shed a tear, that’s the one!! Don’t stress. If you do stress a little, don’t let it ruin your wedding planning experience. It’s one of the best times to be happy about! you only get to do it once, so really get into it and have fun with it! Remember that everything is not going to be PERFECT, but it’s ok. Enjoy the day! it goes by so fast! The most important thing is that you will be married to the love of your life, and that’s all that matters!!
