bonneauphotography_1090 Wedding Date: 9/2/12

Ashley & Mick met at Chipotle Mexican Grill, while attending Chico State during their college years. Ashley & Mick were always good friends but it wasn’t until they both came back to Chico for an alumni event that they saw each other. It had been three or four years and they got together and caught up and there was instant sparks and chemistry. Mick was set to win over Ashley’s heart and asked her out that night. Mick went home to his Mom after that weekend and told his Mom, "I hung out with the girl I’m going to marry someday!" Ashley & Mick went on their first date and clicked. 2 1/2 years later, Mick guided Ashley all over Chico to their favorite restaurants & spots on a scavenger hunt. The last clue led Ashley to the backyard of their new house, where Ashley called their dog, Remi and he came running around the corner with the ring box on his collar. Mick got down on one knee and proposed.

I really enjoyed doing the "first look" with Mick. It was nice because we got to have a special private moment before the wedding with no one else around. We were able to show our true emotion and just have that special alone time on our wedding day. In addition, it was really nice we were able to get all of our wedding photographs out of the way before the wedding. Mick and I were able to attend our cocktail party, which was awesome! I would recommend having a "day of planner", as it’s really nice to have someone else at your wedding helping with day of logistics and coordination. Lastly, I would recommend going on your honeymoon a few days after your wedding. We left three or four days after and it gave us some downtime to get ready for our trip, relax (we were tired!) and enjoy each other for a few days before the big trip!

Collecting anything that you would have done differently if you were given the chance? I would have scheduled my hair and make up appointments for a little bit earlier in the day. I wanted to go as late as possible, so that my makeup and hair was fresh. In reality, it made me feel rushed. Also, I would have somewhat practiced our first dance and grand entrance.
