I realize wedding season is now my focus for the next 6 months but I had to share my other passion…my son Hudson. Well the year came and went…and my baby boy is now one. I will admit I went a little over board for this party but I justified it with telling myself, we both survived and that alone needed to be celebrated! Here are some of the details we created for the small gathering of over 40 of our closest family and friends.

Our party invite…designed by yours truly (Wedding Tulle) but had a ton of input from my girls (love feedback!)…

This 5×7, 2-sided invitation shouted the theme for the entire day…the celebration of our “Little Man”. We had this adorable invitation in a matching stripe lined ivory envelope and sealed with a coordinating seal. Of course I am a true believer in the entire package design so I designed a postage stamp that showcased my baby boy. This clever photo was captured by Jessica Cole Photography. Who I used for his newborns, 3, 6 and 9 month photos and soon his 1 year old shots. She is an amazing and talented woman to work with and I am so glad that over the year we have become friends. Now onto the party details.

With the help of my friend Carey, who I also refer to my Ethel (I am her Lucy’s) made these yummy chocolate mustaches as one of the party favors that we placed in the gift bags. They were a BIG hit! Carey happens to be one of the most creative people I know…makes for a perfect friendship. She has a blog “According to Carey” that you all need to follow!

Our gift bags where filled with salt water taffy, waxed mustaches, chocolate mustaches and a handmade pom pom for a little fun. Each of the ties where hand cut by my dear friend Brandy who had a lot of input in the colors. she is another clever one and she is always a apart of my adventures!

A party is not a party with out a party hat! They were super easy to make and our guests loved them!

We had banners for all the rooms in the house but this one was the only one I got a shot of 🙁

We had a lot of fun with the food. We wanted to keep the theme going throughout and so we made sure to have mini size “man food”. On the menu were “nuggets in a blanket, mini cheese and bacon sliders, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, BBQ popcorn chicken and chicken nuggets.

The cake had to be perfect! So I worked with a new friend (Mickey’s Cake Creations) in town who was open to anything. I gave her the invitation and this was her creation…and she made a mini version just for the birthday boy. HOW CUTE!

I always look for a special fun detail to add and why not have a photo booth! Of course I had to keep the cost down and I wanted to be creative and boy was it fun!

Here are a few of our guests (including my wonderful hubby and step kids!) having fun in our photo booth.

It was a fun day with family and friends celebrating our little boy. Thank you for all who came and loved on him…just wait to see what I have planned for his 2nd birthday!
