I was born with an inner color diva due to my artistic father’s genes and I am reminded daily how women are afraid of using color in their weddings. Why? Color helps you  make a statement. You can go bold or remain subtle, that is completely you decision. Each color has a meaning, very much like our names have meaning. Here is a deeper look at  colors and their meaning behind them.

Gray: Elegance, humility, respect, reverence, stability, subtlety, wisdom,  strong emotions, balance, neutrality.

White: Light, reverence, purity, truth, peace, innocence, cleanliness, simplicity, security, humility.

Black: Absence, modernity, power, sophistication, formality, elegance, wealth, mystery, style.

Red: Passion, strength, energy, fire, love, sex, excitement,  ambition, leadership, masculinity, power, danger. The red ruby is the traditional 40th wedding anniversary gift.

Blue: Peace, unity, harmony, tranquility, calmness, trust, coolness, confidence,  loyalty, dependability, idealism, wisdom, royalty, nobility.

Green: Great intelligence, life, nature, spring, youth, environment, wealth, good luck, vigor, generosity. Green is believed to be the luckiest of colors in some western countries including, Britain, Ireland, and the U.S.

Yellow: Sunlight, joy, happiness, earth, optimism, intelligence, idealism, wealth (gold), summer, hope, air, liberalism,

Purple: Nobility, sensuality, spirituality, creativity, wealth, royalty, mystery, wisdom, enlightenment.

Orange: Happiness, balance,  enthusiasm, flamboyance, playfulness, aggression, desire.

Brown: Calm, boldness, depth, natural, richness, rusticism, stability, tradition. Brown can stimulate the appetite, wholesomeness, steadfastness, simplicity, friendliness, and dependability.

Pink: Gratitude, appreciation, admiration, sympathy, femininity, health, love, sex, marriage, joy.
