Marc and I met while Marc was finishing his Masters degree at Chico State and I was finishing my undergrad. I was a college athlete and he was a student athletic trainer. While we both circled around the collegiate sports world it was only a matter of time before our paths crossed. While sports injuries are not the most fun thing to deal with, they are much nicer when you have a handsome guy taking care of you. Needless to say, those frequent knee surgeries and extended periods of recovery time lead us to getting to know each other on a friendship level, that later turned into a relationship a few months after Marc’s graduation. Flash forward 7 years, and we are now husband and wife.
What was the most important thing for you about finding the perfect dress?
The most Important thing for me about finding my wedding dress was to find a gown that was unique and took my breath away.
What was the best personal moments of your wedding day?
The best personal moment of our wedding day was the moment I walked down the aisle, and Marc was finally able to turn around to see me. Not only did I get to walk down the aisle with my dad, but only our guests and bridal party were able to see me as I took The beginning steps down the aisle. It wasn’t until I was about 20 feet away when Marc got the Okay to turn around, and had that special moment to himself to see me walk down the aisle. I feel like it really made the anticipation so much stronger, but also allowed him to have a special moment to himself.
Please share something that stood out on your wedding day?
Something that stood out on my wedding day, was how amazing all of my vendors worked with one another. My day of coordinator handled any little detail or hiccup that happened, which some I didn’t even find out till two or three weeks after the wedding. I had two assistants that came in from Always Elegant Bridal that literally made me feel like such a princess. They helped me if my veil got messed up, or if my shoe came undone, or simply just comforted me if I started getting nervous.
What was your inspiration for your wedding day and dress?
The inspiration to our wedding day was Rustic but Elegant. I really wanted those little Rustic touches such as our centerpieces or custom wedding signs, but really wanted the day to be extremely classy. The inspiration to my wedding dress was just something different that took my breath away, and a dress that I didn’t want to take off. As soon as I put on my wedding dress I was almost speechless, and I did not want to take it off.
Any advise to future brides?
If I could give any advice to future brides, it would be to plan early and plan often. I had my entire wedding planned out months in advance, which I feel like helped me be able to relax the last month before the wedding and focus on the small little details that make a wedding extra special. I also recommend getting at least a day of coordinator. I planned many pieces of my wedding, but the day of coordinator really allowed me to be able to relax and get ready while she handled the details of the actual wedding day.
It took my breath away viewing your wedding day. From your beautiful dress to the smallest flower, every detail is perfect. Meg you did an amazing job! Memories that will last forever and a day. Wishing you and Marc God’s Blessings every day, every moment and ever second of your new life together.
