Mauve & Tim’s Love Story

My husband Tim and I met at the youth service of our local church while attending Cal Poly. We both loved the church community we were a part of, and spent lots of time together and with friends! We were friends for a whole 4 years (some of which included my leaving to study abroad and both of us graduating) before Tim finally decided to ask me out! We dated for 2 years… and amazing 2 years! We continued to be involved in our church and trusted God to lead us in everything we did- our dating relationship and our lives living in SLO. We were both working full time and loving being on the central coast. Finally, in September 2017, Tim asked me to marry him! He took me on a day long date which included some of our memorable spots- our first date, first kiss and even first valentines day spot. He sang me a song and popped the question near a house I used to live in at a romantic spot we used to talk!

What was the most important thing for you about finding the perfect dress?

I was looking for a dress with character, that would stand out and was very “me”. Going into the process I said that I wanted no lace… and ended up with a dress covered in lace! You never know what you will find!

What was the best personal moments of your wedding day?

I loved standing at the altar with my husband and looking out at our friends and family. I also loved dancing with everyone (we had a crazy 200 person dance party!).

Please share something that stood out on your wedding day?

What stood out on my wedding day were the people who attended- seeing so many friends and family in one place was amazing!

What was your inspiration for your wedding day and dress?

My wedding day and dress were relaxed, casual yet elegant. I wanted to keep everything simple and play to the garden setting we were in.

Any advice to future brides?

My advise would be to give yourself enough time to plan, but not to spend all of that time stressing. Trust other people to help you and allow yourself to enjoy your engagement and wedding day!
