What was the most important thing for you about finding the perfect dress?

In finding my dress, I wanted it to be very flattering, but didn’t quite know what I wanted. I had pinned a handful of different styles on Pinterest, and just brought those pictures in to my appointment. I think the most important thing to me- as selfish as it may sound- was to love it—obviously— but also to get a positive reaction from those who came with me. I wanted my husband and guests to love it!

What was the best personal moments of your wedding day?

The wedding day went so quickly! We would love to live it over and over again! There were not many personal moments that my husband and I had together, but the ones that we did really stuck out. One of my favorite moments was after we walked down the aisle, and we walked back to my holding place. I hadn’t seen my husband for 24 hours, so even just getting to see him and talk to him, but it was a really special thing walking hand in hand the first time together as husband and wife. Another special moment was taking our pictures. Our photographer took us away from everyone to a secluded spot at our venue for pictures, and again, it was nice spending some time together as husband and wife. At that time, we felt like we were the only people in the world.

Please share something that stood out on your wedding day?

Something that stood out on my wedding day was looking across the long table that we had, and seeing all of our closest family and friends in one place. It was truly a moment I will never forget.

What was your inspiration for your wedding day and dress?

The “theme” for my wedding actually came after I found my dress. My dress is pretty elegant and princess-like. Our venue is rustic…so I searched “rustic elegant weddings” on Pinterest (thank God for Pinterest!!) and fell in love with everything I saw! After that, everything really fell into place!

Any advice to future brides?

Don’t have any one specific type of dress in mind! Keep an open mind, and try things on that you think you might not even like! Get a wedding planner!!! This is an additional expense, but WOW!! My mom, my sister and I did not have to lift a finger on the wedding day, or worry about a thing. It was incredible. Try to take moments throughout the night to pause, look around, and appreciate what is going on. It will be over before you know it!
