Their love story…
Chris and Courtney met while both attending school at California State University, Chico. They were introduced by a mutual friend, and soon went on their first date to dinner at Christian Michaels in downtown Chico. Three years later, they found themselves traveling back to Chico for a special dinner at Christian Michaels to celebrate their anniversary. Courtney was in her same dress, and Chris in the same button down shirt, sitting at the same table they did that very first time, except this time they would leave for the night as an engaged couple! After dinner Chris asked the waiter for a photo to capture our recreated memory, and then got down on his knee to pop the question!
What was the most important thing for you about finding the perfect dress?
It was most important to me to find a dress that fit my style and would be comfortable dancing in!
What was the best personal moments of your wedding day?
One of the special moments of our day was stopping for ice cream at the Polka Dot with the bridal party on our way from the ceremony to the reception. This is the same place my parents stopped when they got married in Quincy 27 years ago! Recreating that was so much fun!
Please share something that stood out on your wedding day?
What stood out was how beautifully everything came together in the end. We had so many people who worked so hard to make it the most perfect experience for us!
What was your inspiration for your wedding day and dress?
My inspiration was rustic princess, if that’s even a thing! I had always dreamed of a “Cinderella gown” but my husband and I love country swing dancing! So the elegance of the historic courthouse and the barn on my family’s property gave us the best of both worlds. My dress made me feel like a princess, while still having bold lace detail and beading that I felt gave it a little country flair!
Any advice to future brides?
Take the time to pause periodically throughout the day just to take it all in and appreciate the beauty and celebration surrounding your new beginning!
