Bastian and Sarah met at Enloe Hospital in 2013. Bastian was working as a paramedic and Sarah as a respiratory therapist. The second Bastian saw her he knew he had to figure a way to ask her out on a date but never found an appropriate time to do so. They had mutual friends so they ended up bumping into each other from time to time. Bastian finally had the courage to ask her on a date, and the rest was history. They were inseparable from their first sushi date til now. Throughout the years, Bastian and Sarah have built themselves a beautiful home, raised together Sarah’s son Mikey, who is now 12, have three dogs together, and Bastian is now an engineer at Sacramento metro fire!

Every year Bastian and Sarah go up to butte meadows to play in the snow with their three dogs. It wasn’t unusual that on December 16th, 2016 Bastian took Sarah up to the snow to hike around with the dogs. Little did she know he was going to get down on one knee and ask her to marry her that day! Of course, she said yes! A long 18 month engagement let us up to our big day May 26, 2018.

What was the most important thing for you about finding the perfect dress?

The most important part of finding my dress was comfort and uniqueness. I wanted something different, and something timeless. To my surprise I found my dress at Always Elegant Bridal and Tuxedo in 30 min, I knew right away, yup this is it! Done!

What was the best personal moments of your wedding day?

The best personal moments of my wedding day was having my son and my father walk me down the isle. From the time I was a little girl I dreamed of having my daddy walk me down the isle.

Please share something that stood out on your wedding day?

What stood out on my wedding day had to be my vision executed. Seeing all my thoughts, dreams, and visions that all came together. Another thing was taking a step back and looking at all the people who were there for us!! It was magical.

What was your inspiration for your wedding day and dress?

The inspiration for my wedding was simple, classy, romantic and intimate. The inspiration for my dress was the same romantic, timeless, unique. And most importantly I wanted to feel beautiful which I most definitely did. The best part of my dress I could sit, I could stand, I could dance, and it fit like a glove!!!

Any advice to future brides?

My advice to future brides is, at the end of the night take your husband or wife by the hand. Take a moment to soak it all in and enjoy all the little details that went into your day! And lastly relax, and enjoy the process it only happens once!
