Their love story…
Nick’s and my story began back in high school, no we are not high school sweethearts, but that is where our friendship really started. Since high school Nick and I had always kept in contact through social media. We were always there for each other, sharing exciting news in our lives or even on our bad days we were someone to just chat with. I didn’t realize I actually had feelings for him till later on. We both had been in long term relationships and when those ended we made our way to each other.
Nick and I were both going to CSUC, and finally made plans to hang out! Nick met me at the Red Bluff Round up, We had an eventful day which led into and even more eventful evening. That night we shared our first kiss and I knew I really liked the guy. After the Rodeo we started talking way more and started going on actual dates like going for hikes, meeting up between classes, and even going out to the bars. Our first bar experience was a wild one, He invited me to hang out with his friends to go out with them to Chico’s buck night. I was trying to impress him and his friends so I attempted to drink and keep up with them.Well that night at the bar we had a blast but I very quickly got sick… Nick kindly took me home to take care of me, this was a night I will never forget. That night he took care of me, and was a complete gentlemen. We stayed up all night just talking, we talked about EVERYTHING! I knew from that night that he was the one, he now admits he felt the same way.
Once we became official, all our adventures began. I taught him to ride horses and my crazy ranching life, he taught me how to ride dirt bikes and showed me how handy he was with building different things with wood and metal. We both enjoy traveling and we’ve since been all over the place, a Spartan race in Hawaii, a cross country road trip to Nashville TN, and now we are planning our honey moon to Florida. Nick has always been supportive in all my big ideas like starting to raise a beef cattle herd together, along with also starting a mobile bar-tending business (The Drunken Burro). He built the beautiful bar from an old broken down two horse trailer, I trained the miniature burros and here we are. He goes to all my horse endurance races, and sometimes even competes with me! Nick’s 6th time on a horse ever, he competed in a 50 mile race with me. That’s how I knew he really loved me. Together we live a crazy fun filled life, and I am so excited to see where we go.
What was the most important thing for you about finding the perfect dress?
I wanted to not only feel beautiful but to also feel comfortable it.
What was the best personal moments of your wedding day?
The moment I was walking down the isle and just the way Nick looked at me. His reaction to seeing me for the first time was priceless. Don’t do a first look before the ceremony!
Please share something that stood out on your wedding day?
What stood out to me was just how happy everyone around us were. Everyone got just as emotional as I was, It was just so special to see how happy and excited everyone was for us.
What was your inspiration for your wedding day and dress?
I was going for the country boho look and my dress just matched that perfectly.
Any advice to future brides?
My Advice is don’t settle on a dress, when you put on the perfect dress you will know. I never believed there would have been this tingly emotional moment in picking a dress, BUT I was wrong. When I walked out in my dress I had this crazy feeling in my stomach and my family/ friends all had a special reaction, I knew it was the one. I had tried on a bunch but nothing made me feel, like my dress did when I put it on.
