Byron & I met while working together at CA Dept. of Fish & Game in Nov. 2008. We became friends & finally started dating in the fall of 2013. We both enjoy the outdoors, fishing, hunting, hiking, gardening, exploring new areas together. One Saturday morning (Feb. 4th, 2017) we woke up & decided to take a drive to somewhere, anywhere. We end up cruising through the valley & up to the mountains which eventually lead us to the snow northwest of Elk Creek. After almost getting stuck in the snow, Byron pulled out the ring and completely surprised me. Of course I said YES!!!!
What was the most important thing for you about finding the perfect dress?
I was looking for a dress that had a “vintage” look, mermaid style fit, lace straps, and an open back that did not cost a fortune. I knew exactly what I wanted.
What was the best personal moments of your wedding day?
Seeing my dad. Not seeing Byron before the wedding and holding hands with him around a corner. Our vows, standing at the alter hand in hand looking Byron in the eyes as we were bring married. Father/daughter dance. Having our family and friends join together to celebrate the day with us!
Please share something that stood out on your wedding day?
My handsome husband! Our bridal party, they looked fantastic!!!! Our venue was absolutely amazing! Our flowers were gorgeous! The chicken at dinner was really tasty. Dancing with family and friends was so fun!
What was your inspiration for your wedding day and dress?
Wedding day – We are both outdoorsy people and wanted an outdoor wedding. I wanted a rustic theme that didn’t look “country” so incorporated vintage with an elegant/romantic touch.
Dress – I had seen a few dresses online that I really liked. I tried on a bunch and knew exactly what I wanted but I could not find it. So I had my favorite dress altered to make it my one-of-a-kind wedding dress. It was absolutely beautiful!!! Thank you Connie!! You did a fantastic job!!!
Any advice to future brides?
Enjoy every moment of planning, it goes by so fast and before you know it your married! Don’t focus on the little details. Venue, food, drinks, and music are what the majority of your guests care about. Get the dress you want! Have a good photographer, that is the only memories you are going to have of your big day!
